Loretta, Mackenzie, and Jennifer Rubio hail from El Paso, TX and belong to a family overflowing with musical talent.  All three are multi-instrumentalists and their realm of expertise carries far beyond contest fiddling.  Their family band puts on two hours of non-stop musical entertainment playing over 70 shows a year across the Southwest region.    

The Rubio family has always been attracted to music.  They started by experimenting with different musical genres and ended up playing Old Time Fiddle/Country Music.  In the year 2000, they were invited to participate in the Anthony, NM, Old Time Fiddlers Contest.  Jennifer took 2 nd place and Loretta won 3 rd place.  This contest opened the doors for invitations to other contests, jams, and dances, across TX, NM, and AZ.  Through the years, the Rubio's have filled their home with ribbons and trophies in all kinds of categories.  Their family band plays for community events across the region as well as for dances at the Old Time Fiddler's Playhouse in Truth or Consequences, NM.  They perform locally as well at Rudy's BBQ and country store in El Paso, TX .

Jennifer and her brother Mackenzie both started playing when they were 10 years old and their younger sister Loretta quickly followed, starting at age 8.   Loretta's prizes include the Jr Grand Champion in Lovington, 2nd place in the Grand Championship at Safford, 1st place in her age division in Truth or Consequences, Roswell, Safford, and Lovington, and she was the 1st place winner of the OBS blowout competition last year in Sierra Vista. Mackenzie's prizes include a 1st place trophy in Roswell as well as 2nd place trophies in Lovington, Sierra Vista, and Truth or Consequences.  Jennifer's prizes include 1st and 2nd place trophies in Roswell and a 3rd place trophy in Sierra Vista.  Loretta and Mackenzie have won 1 st place in Twin Fiddle in Roswell, and Lovington and taken home 2 nd at Truth or Consequences, Tucson, and Sierra Vista.
