What is exceptionally helpful - and I didn't expect - is your commentary about how to play the tune. I've bought a few fiddle instruction books, and had a few in-person teachers. Unfortunately, the instruction books usually lack a lot of hints for how to play the tunes. You've covered this very well. Plus the several tune speeds and variants, and the nicely organized booklet of sheet music. If you can provide that quality of material - and it must take serious effort to product a CD like that - then you should have a hit!”

“I'm an "intermediate" level fiddle player (on a good day!) - I'd like to improve my playing. I saw David Kaemmer's full-page ad in the Fall 2007 Fiddler Magazine; I signed-up. The "Tune of the Month" package just arrived & I've had a good look. Sometimes, I'm surprized by merchandise I receive - with Internet ordering, you always take abit of a chance. The surprize this time - was "expectations greatly exceeded". And - Wow ! I would suggest that any intermediate level players interested in expanding their repetoire, or in getting a better understanding of the nuances of a tune - have a look at this offering from David.  The package contains a CD, several sheets of music, and a description of the contents. There are hints about specific passages. How to play the tune is fully narrarated. As a bonus, I had been in-touch with David before ordering - he was very patient with my questions - no-doubt he has lots of experience with "questions a fiddle student might ask". Yes, being able to read music is very helpful for this material, although I did find myself playing parts of the tune"by ear". Overall - an excellent offering. I regret that I can't sign-up for in-person lessons with David Kaemmer; this is close to the next best thing!”
